We’re over the moon to share that our Head Chef Nicholas Hahn has been crowned “Berliner Meisterkoch des Jahres 2025” — a first in Cookies Cream history and another wild chapter in Cookie’s mission to keep shaking up Berlin’s food scene.
Nicholas joined us in 2023 and quickly made the kitchen his playground capturing the energy of the city. His current Luminous Roots menu shows exactly that — dishes like radish–ponzu–horseradish, pumpkin–quince–Jerusalem artichoke, and favourites such as bell pepper–jalapeño–capers or celeriac–macadamia–yuzu. Under his lead, our Michelin-starred approach to vegetarian fine dining keeps evolving with style (and a little mischief).


This award also celebrates what Cookies Cream has always stood for. For over twenty years, Cookie (Heinz Gindullis) has shaped Berlin’s dining culture — proving that fine dining can be fun, vegetables can take centre stage, and a restaurant can be creative, while deeply rooted in community. From Szene-Restaurant des Jahres to Cookie’s Best Gastronomic Innovator award, from holding a Michelin star since 2008 to now adding Nicholas’ title to the shelf, it all feels like the natural continuation of a very Cookies journey: bold ideas, bright flavours, and a kitchen that never stops moving forward.
